PMEGP Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about the PMEGP scheme

What is the maximum subsidy available under PMEGP?

The maximum subsidy under PMEGP is 35% of the project cost for beneficiaries from Special Categories (like SC/ST/OBC/Women/PH/Ex-servicemen/Transgender) setting up projects in North Eastern Region, Hill States, and aspirational districts. For general category in other regions, it's 15% for manufacturing and 25% for service sector.

How long does it take to get PMEGP loan approval?

The PMEGP approval process typically takes 60-90 days from application submission to sanction, provided all documents are in order. The timeline includes application scrutiny by KVIC/KVIB/DIC, bank appraisal, and final approval from the implementing agency.

Can I apply for PMEGP online?

Yes, PMEGP applications can be submitted online through the Udyami Mitra Portal (udyamimitra.in). However, physical documents still need to be submitted to the respective KVIC/KVIB/DIC office. Our consultancy assists with both online application and physical documentation.

What is the repayment period for PMEGP loans?

PMEGP loans have a repayment period of 3-7 years after an initial moratorium period of 6-18 months (depending on the project). The repayment schedule is structured to match the cash flow generation of the project.
